1.  Read Exodus 9. Paul quotes Exodus 9:16 in Romans 9:17. What does this say about God’s work in leaders throughout history? Research to see if you can find any other passages that reflect God’s work in the election of governing officials. Share them with your MC.

2.  How should these passages affect the way we view these leaders?

3.  Romans 9:17 gives us two reasons why God uses these leaders.

4.  What does it mean for God to be all powerful? Does this bring you hope or frustration? Why/why not?What are some other scriptures that speak of God’s power? Why is it important that God be completely free in displaying His power?

5.  God also desires that His name be proclaimed. First why is God’s name so important? How is God’s power displayed in His name?

6.  Read Matthew 12:18, Mark 16:15, Luke 4:18, 1 Corinthians 11:26, 2 Corinthians 4:5, Ephesians 6:19, Colossians 1:28, 1 Peter 2:9, 1 John 1:2, 1 John 1:3. What are all these passages about?

7. Are you proclaiming Jesus? Why or why not? How are we proclaiming Jesus as a church/mission community? What are ways we can be more proactive about proclaiming Jesus.
