MISSIONAL COMMUNITY QUESTIONS

1. Looking back at your notes from this week's teaching on 1 Peter 2:9-10, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you? What was the major takeaway for you?

2. Who are you? Describe yourself briefly.

3. Scripture is full or descriptions of who we are in Christ, including 1 Peter 9:10...find three other scriptures that describe our new identity in Christ now that we have placed our faith in him?

4. Read John 15:18-25. I think this accurately describes Christians in todays culture. How have you been hated because of your faith? How should we handle now being in the minority?

5. Have you ever experienced jealousy of someone else success, especially when you know they are not followers of Jesus? Have you asked 'why not me'? How does this directly distort the gospel?

6. Being chosen should humble us. Read Deuteronomy 7:7, Isaiah 49:3, and 2 Corinthians 12:9. Synthesize these three scriptures. What is God saying about us? About him choosing us? And most importantly about himself? For what purpose was anyone chosen?? HINT: read 1 Peter 2:9 for help.

7. How will understanding our identity effect our worship, discipleship making, and multiplying?
