Submit In Christ

August 26, 2018 Speaker: Justin Crowe

Passage: Ephesians 5:21

MISSIONAL COMMUNITY QUESTIONS

1. Pray and re-read Ephesians 5:15-21 (If possible listen to the sermon again).

Ask yourself these questions as you read:
What is the context of the passage? What are some of the repeated phrases? What are some of the key phrases?
What does this passage teach or reveal about God?

What does this passage teach or reveal about human beings and the world in which we live? What does this passage teach or reveal about Jesus & the gospel?

What does this passage teach or reveal about the hope Christ gives now – and the restoration promised in the future?

2. In looking over your notes from this weeks sermon what was the most important truth from God's Word? Was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you? Any questions?

3. Find other scriptures that display Christ’s radical humility and submission. Connect these ideas with Ephesians 5:21 and think of ways they can apply in our current context.

4. Read Acts chapter 2:42-47. In what ways does Mission Church resemble this description? In what ways do we struggle to resemble this description?

5. Not that we should do things out of practical efficiency but just from a practical standpoint, why would it be wise to live within the paradigm of mutual submission?

6. Read John 13:1-20. Verse 15 says that we are to wash feet as well. List some specific ways you can think of in your own life to “wash feet”??

John 3:30-He must increase, I must decrease.
*Pray that God would use this verse to bring about joyful submission in our lives and families.*
