Passage: 2 Timothy 2:20–22

Missional Community Questions

  1. Re-read 2 Timothy 2:1-22. If possible, listen to the sermon(s) again.

  1. Looking back over your notes from this week’s sermon (or the past few weeks in 2 Timothy) what was the most important truth from God's Word? Was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged you, or confused you? Any questions?

  1. I shared how the Holy Spirit illuminated Exodus in a new way this week as I was studying. Does anyone have any examples like this where God has illuminated or changed the way you look at certain scriptures that they would like to share?

  1. Being truly cleansed is a gift of grace that can only come from Jesus because it must start in the heart. Be open with your family. How have you, either now or in the past, been guilty of trying to clean the outside of your cup in order to look cleansed? How were you able to change or how can we help you change that now?

  1. Read Ephesians 2:10, Philippians 2:12-13, 2 Corinthians 9:8. How do these texts, coupled with Psalm 50:7-15, encourage you to step out of your comfort zone for the Kingdom? In what areas of your life are you refusing to be 'set apart as holy, ready for every good work'?

  1. Jesus is all up in our business. How can we, as your family, be more in your business in order to point you to Jesus as we pursue Christ with a pure heart? Are you holding back? If so, why?
