The Fruit of Ungodliness

August 25, 2019 Speaker: Eric Baker Series: Center Church

Passage: 2 Timothy 3:1–9

1. Re-read 2 Timothy 3:1-9. If possible, listen to the sermon again.

2. Looking back over your notes from this weeks sermon, what was the most important truth from God's Word? Was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged you, or confused you? Any questions?

3. We were not able to extensively cover all 17 of the evils we see listed in these verses. Are there any of them you need more clarity on, information about, or have questions about?

4. On a practical level, how do we typically see these pop up, gain traction, and/or become celebrated in the church?

Confessionally, where do you see yourself (if anywhere) on this list?

Specifically, how is the gospel the answer to each?

5. Look up the definitions of the words CHARISMA and MANIPULATION.  Compare and contrast them.

What is the difference and how can the line between them be so blurry? How do we discern when one or the other has crossed that line?

6. Too many times we see sin as ‘out there’ when in reality it is inside all of us. The sin in us manifests itself in ways that put it ‘out there’. Usually this comes from lies we slowly believe from the enemy. Can anyone think of any lies they have believed in the past that sounded totally believable?

Better yet, what lies do you, even now, struggle NOT to believe even though you know they are not true?
