Exodus 7:14-8: Plagues and Promises

March 21, 2021 Speaker: Justin Crowe Series: Exodus

Passage: Exodus 7:14– 8:32

  1. Re-read Exodus 7:14-8. If possible, listen to the sermon(s) again.

  1. Looking back over your notes from this weeks sermon (or the past few weeks in Exodus) what was the most important truth from God's Word? Was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged you, or confused you? Any questions?

  1. We do not have fancy names for our gods in American culture. However, what are some thing that our culture have clearly adopted as gods? How do we fend off allowing that to seep into our own lives and into Mission Church?

  1. If God were to send a plague to express his authority over your most revered ‘god’ who or what would that plague target?

  1. We are all guilty of looking for comfort in places that it doesn’t exist. What it is that makes us keep going back to the same dry well? How does the plague narrative help drive us back to the wellspring of the gospel for our life, comfort, and freedom?

  1. How does it strike you that sometimes God’s “plagues” in life are actually forms of his mercy and grace?
