Exodus 12: The Lord's Supper

April 11, 2021 Speaker: Eric Baker Series: Exodus

Passage: Exodus 12:1–51

  1. Re-read Exodus 12:43-50. If possible, listen to the sermon(s) again.
  2. Looking back over your notes from this weeks sermon (or the past few weeks in Exodus) what was the most important truth from God's Word? Was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged you, or confused you? Any questions?
  3. How did your views about the Lord’s Supper change (if at all) based on Sunday’s sermon?
  4. What reasons have you had in the past to take the Lord’s Supper less serious than maybe you should have? How does taking a more serious view of it change the way you look at Jesus?
  5. Read Matthew 26:17-29, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. How does the ways Jesus and Paul talk about the Lord’s Supper relate to and complement each other? Why does it seem to be so easy to get off track?
  6. The points on Sunday were that we want communion to make us:

            Look Back

            Look Inward

            Look Outward

            Look Forward

            Look at Jesus

Which of these have you found yourself more focused on in the past? Less focused on? How does this template help you and what has God revealed to you over the last couple days as you have, hopefully, engaged in each of these?
