Exodus 23: Conquest In Christ

October 24, 2021 Speaker: Eric Baker Series: Exodus

Passage: Exodus 23

1. Reread Exodus 23. If possible, listen to the sermon(s) again.

2. Looking back over this sermon and this sermon series, how has God convicted your heart, stirred your affections for Jesus, drawn you closer to Him? How has the Word challenged, confused, or made you ask questions?

3. Life is hard. Many times life, as a Christian, is even harder. We live in what theologians call the “already, but not yet” meaning that Christ has already overcome but we are not yet glorified and perfected. The question is why? Why does God leave us here and not simply remove us from earth the moment we truly believe? Why is sanctification a lifelong process? Use scripture(s) for your answer, not just conjecture.

4. “I” will do such and such. Then “you” shall do such and such. This passage of scripture points to the supremacy of God and drives us to humility. List and discuss some New Testament passages that do the same thing when pointing to Jesus’ supremacy.

5. John 16:33 “In this life you will have tribulation, but take heart, I have overcome the world.” In what avenue of your life do you need the most reminders of this truth and why?

6. What does it mean to ‘walk in victory in Christ’?
