1. Reread Mark 2:18-22. If possible, listen to the sermon(s) again.

2. Looking back over this sermon and this sermon series, how has God convicted your heart, stirred your affections for Jesus, drawn you closer to Him? How has the Word challenged, confused, or made you ask questions?

3. WEEKLY QUESTION: Who Is This? In what ways were your views of Jesus challenged, changed, or reinforced by this weeks sermon and text? In what ways have your thoughts about Jesus changed as you have matured in your faith?

4. “What if we are wrong?” This is a question that we should regularly ask ourselves about any strongly held beliefs just to make sure why we believe what we believe. And to answer this question about our Christianity we should always turn to God’s Word to decide if we have gotten it wrong. So…what beliefs have you ever had that you do not anymore? What beliefs, if any, have changed or evolved over the years as you have matured? And how did the Bible play a role in these changes?

5. The Pharisees believed that fasting would bring about the favor of God as a reward. Have you ever been told or believed that doing or not doing a certain act would bring about God’s favor? What were these beliefs?

6. In what ways have you tried to use Jesus as a ‘patch’ for your life? How have you tried to simply shoehorn Jesus into your old life instead of stepping into an entirely new life with him?

7. Have you ever (or are you now) tried to ‘customize your Christianity’? How have you tried to pick and choose which parts of our faith are ‘right for you and your life’?
