Passage: Mark 6:14–29

Missional Community Questions

  1. Reread Mark 6:14-29. If possible, listen to the sermon(s) again.
  2. Looking back over this sermon and this sermon series, how has God convicted your heart, stirred your affections for Jesus, drawn you closer to Him? How has the Word challenged, confused, or made you ask questions?
  3. WEEKLY QUESTION: Who Is This? In what ways were your views of Jesus challenged, changed, or reinforced by this weeks sermon and text? In what ways have your thoughts about Jesus changed as you have matured in your faith?
  4. Galatians 1:10–"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."
Not if…but when does this verse seem to come into play in your walk with Christ? Meaning when do you personally find it most difficult to live in order to please God instead of man?
  5. Repentance is hard. Repentance is lifelong. Repentance is necessary.
Do you struggle with this particular area of your Christian walk? What sins do you find yourself continually popping back up or sins that you are simply struggling to let go of to start with? How can we help?
  6. How is a church saying “come as you are” and simultaneously saying “repent and believe” not only NOT contradicting itself but also being a Biblical church?
  7. How does this passage cause you to take Jesus more seriously?
