Mark 6:53-56

October 8, 2023 Speaker: Eric Baker Series: Who Is This? A Portrait of Jesus Through the Gospel of Mark

Passage: Mark 6:53–56

Missional Community Questions:

1. Reread Mark 6:30-44. If possible, listen to the sermon(s) again.

2. Looking back over this sermon and this sermon series, how has God convicted your heart, stirred your affections for Jesus, drawn you closer to Him? How has the Word challenged, confused, or made you ask questions?

3. WEEKLY QUESTION: Who Is This? In what ways were your views of Jesus challenged, changed, or reinforced by this weeks sermon and text? In what ways have your thoughts about Jesus changed as you have matured in your faith?

4. Obviously we cannot know exactly what Jesus is thinking in every moment. But using scripture as your basis, why is it that Jesus heals some and not others and sometimes but not others?

5. Have you ever begged God to prove himself, maybe in a difficult time in life, and not received the answer you were seeking? How did God reveal to you that his answer was better? If you are currently in that time please share with the group and allow your family to pray for you.

6. We are all in need of healing or will be before too long. How can we begin even before our actual time of crisis to A. trust Jesus in our suffering, B. worship him because he has cured our ultimate disease, and C. look forward to his return to make all sickness a death a thing of the past?

7. How does this passage cause us to take Jesus more seriously?
